PITTSFIELD, MA – It all starts with consistency. That’s the mantra this season for Paul Gilardi and the Superior Seamless, Autopart International #87 team. They have been knocking down top 10 finishes as of late and that continued Saturday at Lebanon Valley, when the veteran crossed the finish line ninth.

The good finish this weekend on the Valley’s high banks continues his solid start in 2017. Since the double feature night on May 20th, Gilardi and his HigFab Chassis have four top 10 finishes in six events. It all goes back to that word…consistency…which has the veteran driver moving up the points ladder.

“Our car wasn’t that great tonight,” Gilardi said. “We were fighting a little bit of a brake issue as the feature went on. Along with that, we’re still running our back-up motor and that’s hurting us.”

Saturday night run saw the Pittsfield, MA driver make a big leap in the Modified point standings at the track. He moved up three spots to fourteenth from last week and is just 28 markers outside the top 10.

“We’ve never truly raced for points,” he said. “We try out best each and every week and see where the standings shake out. We’re having some good runs lately and hopefully having our primary engine back soon will help us even more.”

Gilardi, who has his own engine program in-house, plans to have his primary powerplant in action for the Independence Weekend event at the Valley. That’s the next event for the team when Berkshire Bank presents a gigantic fireworks display for all in attendance at the West Lebanon, NY oval. Gates open at 5pm.
